St Briavels Castle is a Norman castle situated at St Briavels in the English county of Gloucestershire.

The castle was built between 1075 and 1129 and was intended as a royal administrative centre for the Forest of Dean.

In the 13th century, it became a favourite hunting lodge of King John and was later used for manufacturing arrows.

Today however, the castle is used as a youth hostel and is often booked for weddings and other exciting events!

Don’t be fooled though, this castle is not for the faint hearted. Throughout the years, many visitors have reported ghostly occurrences and unusual sightings…
