Hampton Court Palace is located in the borough of Richmond upon Thames, London and has a chilling history spanning five centuries.

The building of the palace was started in 1515 for Cardinal Thomas Wolsey, who was a then favourite of King Henry VIII.

In 1529, the cardinal returned the ownership of the palace to King Henry VIII, who then expanded the size of the building quite considerably.
One of Henry’s last remaining palaces…
To date, Hampton Court Palace is one of only two remaining palaces owned by King Henry VIII, the other being St James’s Palace.

All other palaces belonging to this ruthless king either couldn’t withstand the years or were destroyed by the elements.
