This show really established his status as an actor over the years because the significance of his role has never died down.
He always made a great impression.
Without this role, he may not have ever been widely known as an actor. So, we are thankful that he was ‘Cooter’ in this show.

Years later, he even takes the time to defend The General Lee’s confederate flag on its roof.
It’s a touchy subject.
He says that he despises the use of the confederate flag for hateful reasons because that’s not the intention of it.
