In the 1990s, he ran for Congress three times as a Democrat despite having distinctly left-wing views. It’s interesting to imagine how far the influence of Will Geer would have played out in the end.

In 2010, Ralph finally reconnected with God, after discovering a Presbyterian church in Palm Springs, which welcomed gay members to the congregation. The congregation even addressed gay issues and encouraged gay activism. Despite not being gay, the actor stated that he was persuaded to join the church as they shared the same ‘religious and political views’.
