Tupac passed away aged 25 on 13 September 1996. He was lyrically powerful with his songs carrying a sense of enlightenment and empowerment for the black community. Tupac has sold over 75 million records worldwide and is referred to consistently all over the world as one of the greatest music artists of all time.

Tupac once said, “Death is not the greatest loss in life. The greatest loss is what dies inside while still alive. Never surrender.”

Biggie Smalls

Biggie Smalls passed away aged 24 on 9 March 1997. He is considered by many as one of the best rappers of all time. His double-disc album, Life After Death, was released sixteen days later and rose to number one on the U.S. album charts. Biggie was noted for his “loose, easy flow”, dark semi-autobiographical lyrics and storytelling abilities, which revolved around violence and hardship.

Biggie once said, “Stay far from timid, only make moves when your heart’s in it, and live the phrase ‘sky’s the limit.’”
