Going to the cinema is supposed to be a full experience. But, with the movie you get a side of screaming kids and rustling popcorn.

There are a lot of things that go down at a movie theatre, but this list will truly unveil some of the bizarre secrets the staff don’t want you to know.

Enjoy!

1. The popcorn is not fresh – like you’re made to believe

In fact, the popcorn you eat the cinema can even be up to two days old.

You do not pay this much for a tub of this to be given two-day old popcorn?! Ridiculous!

2. Theatres don’t have control over what films they show

If the people at the top want a certain film shown, then that is what will be available for customers to watch.

This is why you shouldn’t complain in-house as the manager won’t be able to do that much. Instead, take it straight to the top if you don’t like the films that are being shown.

3. Until 1981 the seats at the cinema didn’t have cup holders

So where on EARTH did you put your drinks?! How awkward must this be… having to hold your drink for an hour and a half.

The surprising thing is that air-con was introduced into cinemas back in 1922… but it was nearly another 60 years until they put basic cup holders into a seat!
