These little cameras were mounted on an aluminum breast harness that was attached to the pigeon. It would take pictures at regular intervals.

When two girls in 1917 (ages 9 and 16) said that they saw fairies at the bottom of Elsies Garden, nobody believed them. So, they borrowed their father’s camera, and when the plate was developed by their father, it showed his daughter Frances Griffiths surrounded by fairies. Her 16-year-old cousin Elsie took the photo. Nobody would know for sure if it was real.
