2. Jay Cartwright
In contrast to Simon, Jay Cartwright is the least mature in every way. He is perhaps the funniest of the group and a self proclaimed ladies man who’s obsession with sex has led him to sharing some colourfully creative but not so truthful stories with his group of friends. Strangely, even though the rest of the group is aware his experiences are entirely fabricated they still accept and act upon his awful relationship advice on multiple occasions throughout the show. Of the group, dimwitted Neil (Blake Harrison) is the only one gullible enough to believe his elaborate lies.

His insecurity stemming from his lack of sexual experience is what causes Jay to create so many false scenarios and these lies spill over into other aspects of his life. He depends on pornography for his sexual information which severely warps his understanding of what sex and women are actually like. His behaviour often comes across as arrogant and misogynistic but in reality Jay is much more complex character.
