We all know that being a kid of the 70s and 80s was truly something special.

The food, the music and best of all the freedom that we used to have was absolutely incredible.

We really didn’t appreciate how good we had it at the time. But, looking back we can see how amazing life was back then.

Here are 10 things that we LOVED when we were younger. Enjoy!

1. Lucozade

You knew you were ill when your mum brought you home a bottle of this. This was always their cure for everything – it really did work too!

It came wrapped in orange cellophane as well. Did anyone else hold up the cellophane to their eyes so everything turned orange? We could make fun out of anything when we were younger!

2. Rollerskating

There was honestly nothing more fun than rollerskating when we were younger. Owning your first pair of rollerskates was a magical moment.

We used to want to wear these absolutely everywhere we went. Happy memories!

3. Conkers

We know that this was one game that would never get old. Playing this truly brings back some great memories from our childhood.

The best part – by far – was picking out which conkers you should use. The memories from this game should definitely put a smile on your face!

4. The adventure game

Who remembers when programmes like this were popular? This brings back SO many fun memories from when we were younger. Can you believe this first aired back in 1980?

This ran for a massive six years and we loved it! I think we can all agree that this was our favourite game show on the television at the time!

5. Quality Street

You can probably tell that over the years the size of the quality street tin has declined a significant amount. This sadly means less chocolate for us for our money.

But, at the time, the size of our Quality Street tins was REALLY decent. The sad moment came when your mum filled up your old tin with buttons! This was so misleading when all you wanted was a chocolate treat… but you were greeted with buttons instead!

6. Taping the top 40

We know that this was the same ritual that we ALL went through every single Sunday night. We spent ages perfecting the tape so we could skip out all the talking.

The more you started doing this – the more pro you got at taping it perfectly. We all still probably have these old tapes hanging around somewhere! This brings back so many memories.

7. Super Mousse

Can you remember the days when this was your FAVOURITE dessert or treat to have? Which of these flavours was your all time favourite?

Mine was the mint flavour by a mile! We used to buy these from Kwik Save, didn’t we?! They should DEFINITELY bring these back!!

8. Frustration

Who remembers this board game?! The name DEFINITELY described it perfectly. It was a stressful game but we loved playing it.

We can all remember the days when we used to have the time to sit with each other and play these different games.. family time was always the best!

9. Getting your hair done like this

Back in the day this was the only way to get your hair done if you wanted it coloured. Some hair dressers still use this technique to this day!

Not only did it look completely ridiculous whilst you were sat there in the hair dressers, it was also one of the most PAINFUL experiences of our lives if we had a heavy handed hair dresser!

10. Playing out with your friends

Back when you were younger, playing out with your friends was one of the biggest things that you had time for. This brings back so many memories.

I think we can all agree that half of the stuff we did back then was completely dangerous. But, we didn’t care!
