Claire’s was a haven for all 0s girls. Whether it was to get your ears pierced or buy your weekly lucky bag, Claire’s was the place to go. We were all guilty of making huge fashion mistakes when we were younger and no doubt most of the items were bought in Claire’s…

1. Getting your first ever piercing sat in the window of Claire’s.

Because where else would you go for your ear piercing? I sat in the window hoping someone from school would walk past me and see how much of a badass I really was.

2. Getting the spiky neon earrings.

Oh good god. Remember these ghastly things?!

3. Then taking photos in the mirror of you and your friends in hats and scarves.

Haaaaaa! Standard Saturday afternoon poses. I dread to imagine how many of these cringe photo’s are still floating about on the internet somewhere.

4. There was always that one friend who used to steal something for £1.99.

There was always one scruff in the group wasn’t there….

5. It was probably one of those furry phone charms you could buy on the side of the desk.

Just in case your Nokia 3310 wasn’t bulky and heavy enough, you needed one of these charms to add to it.

6. Obviously you couldn’t leave the shop without buying a best friend’s necklace.

Hands up who’s still best friends with the person they bought their first necklace with? I know I’m not!

7. The Claire’s lucky bags – obviously!

How fuming would you be when you’d rushed home to open your lucky bag to find that you basically got the same as the week before.

8. Getting a themed pencil case halfway through term because you were bored of yours that you’d begged your mum to buy you in September.

You always had to have a better pencil case than your friends, that was the rule.

9. Buying these sh*t bangles.

Who remembers what colour meant what?

10. Or these even worse flower headbands.

They weren’t cool then and they aren’t cool now.

11. Remember the crappy stick-on nails we used to buy and they’d flick off after 5 minutes.

12. We obviously had to buy a tutu for our Halloween outfit.

Why did no one tell us we looked ridiculous in them?
