Remember Roxy Wellard? Here’s What She’s Doing Now…
If you can’t remember Roxy Wellard and her siblings from The Story of Tracy Beaker (aka the resident Dumping Ground bullies), let us re-jog your memory…
Plotting to destroy all the kids files? That was the Wellards. Flushing Hayley’s doll down the toilet? Definitely the Wellards. Planning to get the care home closed down? Yep- you guessed it, of course it was the Wellards!
As soon as Roxy rocked up on season 4 – sporting gothic, black clothing and black chunky boots – we all knew she was going to be trouble…

The mischief-maker was always seen wearing a black dress, dangly earrings (that look like they could do some harm) and a chilling pink feather hair bobble – in short: she’s about as terrifying as an 8 year old can get.
Most of the Wellard trio’s evil schemes are drawn up by Roxy Wellard – the brains of the family – but because of her small size, she never fights her own battles (she just gets bro Rio to do it for her…).
Tracey’s arch-villian tormented each and every kid in the Dumping Ground for years and by the end of the show, Roxy Wellard – played by Sophia Borja-Edwards – had been on the receiving end of more ‘bog off’ insults than one could ever imagine…
But did she ever bog off? Let’s find out…

She Started Off Her Career At Dance School
We know, right?! We can’t imagine little, scary Roxy ever dancing, but real-life actress Sophia attended the Mandy Morris School of Dance in Cardiff – kicking off her career in the industry.
She’s Got A Famous Sister
When it comes the acting, it runs in the family. Sophia’s sister – Lucy – has starred in a handful of dramas, including Gwaith/Cartref, Dawn and Leash. Oh – and Lucy’s now a backup dancer for Britney Spears! So, did Sophia (Roxy) take after her sister and stay in the acting industry since her Tracy Beaker days?

Sophia (Roxy) Had A Role In TV Series After Tracy Beaker
After leaving the Dumping Ground, Sophia’s not done much in the acting world- but she had a small role in UK comedy-supernatural series Being Human.

She’s Now Left Acting Behind Her
She’s since left acting and is now a fully qualified hairdresser and makeup artist! The star’s also a vegan and is active on social media.

Fans Of Love Island Thought Amber Davies Played The Youngest Wellard
Last year, there were crazy rumours flying around that none other than Amber from reality TV show Love Island – yes Amber “he is literally my type on paper.” Davies – played Roxy Wellard.
The fabulous wickedness? The confidence? The love of being the centre of attention? Sound familiar?

Yep, fans thought that Amber was the kid who used to ruin Tracy Beaker’s life – she looked EXACTLY like Roxy (apparently!).
Unfortunately, as we now know, Amber was played by Sophie Borja – a real actor, not a reality TV star.

Roxy’s Fictional Siblings Have Been Busy Too
You remember Chantal Wellard, don’t you!? Roxy’s older half sister. After her parents separated, her mother got a new partner and gave birth to Rio. Well, Deepal Parmar – who played Chantal – has starred in numerous acting roles since, including TV series Doctors, as well as films Yolo and Action. She’s also been on the stage recently, after landing a role in the West End version of East is East.

Rio Wellard Is Now A Pretty Big Deal
Craig Roberts (the actor who played Rio Wellard) is still acting too – and his CV is pretty lengthy…
After The Story of Tracy Beaker, there was Young Dracula, then came Casualty, then came his breakout role in Submarine – the one he won the BAFTA Cymru Award for the Best Actor. Since then, there’s almost too many to name – Jane Eyre, 22 Jump Street, The First Time, A Bright Day, you get the gist!

The actor has even dabbled in writing and directing. Roberts implied that his transition from acting into directing was a response to the typecast he has become – usually, young men who are socially awkward. While he enjoys those roles, he has suggested that they have limited his acting career
“The audiences and people decide who you are as an actor. I can’t do that. So because of the way I look, I’m always a ‘coming-of-age’ character. Writing and directing gives me an outlet to explore something else.”
When the former Tracey Beaker actor was asked if he would ever consider leaving acting completely to become a full-time director, he said:
“It depends how well [Eternal Beauty – a film he’s currently making] goes! I hope I can pursue it. As long as people are happy [with my work], that’s fine! I just don’t want to piss people off!”
